The shared ci is now supported by the repo, restricted to the same
sorts of things that were supported previously. Some parts have been
updated slightly to manage the current handling of the modules.

At some point we're going to need to consider the support for multiple
environments simultaneously - in this case a python environment which
is used alongside the perl environment. However, for now, this all
works ok as it stands, I think.
